My name is Yvonne and I am born in Singapore. I love meeting new people and understanding different cultures, hence I like travelling. During my leisure time, I love to spend time with my family and friends.
MY TASK AND MY PROFESSIONAL CAREER:
I am part of the Shared Service team in Palfinger Asia Pacific and I handle Finance, partial HR and corporate legal function. I am responsible of the reporting for land division financial numbers and ensure all operational issues are being kept up to date. Being a Finance personnel, reporting on a timely manner and accuracy is important.
I have been working as an accountant for more than 20 years. I started as a junior accountant and gained experience throughout all my working life. Besides my accountancy degree, I have also been trained on leadership skills.
THIS IS IMPORTANT IN MY JOB:
I think that having an open mind is important, as we always have to keep up our pace with the challenging situations that we face each day. Always be positive and embrace on learning new things.
WHY I CHOSE PALFINGER AS AN EMPLOYER:
Before working at PALFINGER, I saw our cranes in our city and hence when I was selected for an interview, I was delighted to join PALFINGER as I wanted to work in a multi-national company.
When I joined in 2006, the company was a new start up in Singapore to be the Asia trading hub. I recalled at that point of time, only four of us (including two Directors and one Finance Manager). Along the years, our team has expanded to almost 20 headcounts now. (just on land division)

Our office is located on the 5th storey at a building named Nordic European Centre, a spacious office building situated at the west part of Singapore.
MY BEST / PROUDEST MOMENT AT PALFINGER:
My proudest moment at PALFINGER was when I received the 10 years’ service award from the Management team of Palfinger Asia Pacific. Working at PALFINGER is like a big family and there is always opportunity given to the employee, if they are ready to learn new things and gain different types of experiences.
Once a year we have a family day or team building events which I enjoy, as it is a good bonding time with our fellow colleagues. Such events bring us closer and thus bring harmony and higher level of work coordination between different departments.
