MY TASKs AND MY PROFESSIONAL CAREER:
I am part of the Shared Service team in Palfinger Asia Pacific and I handle finance, partial HR and corporate legal function. I am responsible for reporting the financial numbers of the Land division and to ensure all operational issues are being kept up to date. Being a Finance Personnel, reporting on a timely manner and accuracy is important.
I have been working as an accountant for more than 20 years. I started as a junior accountant and gained experience throughout all my working life. Besides my accountancy degree, I have also been trained on leadership skills.
THIS IS IMPORTANT IN MY JOB:
I think that having an open mind is important, as we always have to keep pace with the challenging situations that we face every day. Always be positive and take the opportunity to learn new things.
WHY I CHOSE PALFINGER AS AN EMPLOYER:
Before working at PALFINGER, I saw the cranes in our city and hence when I was selected for an interview, I was delighted to join PALFINGER as I wanted to work for a multi-national company. When I joined in 2006, the company was a new start up in Singapore, which should be the Asian trading hub. Back at that time there were just four of us (including two Directors and one Finance Manager). Along the years, our team has expanded to almost 20 headcounts (just on Land division) now. I like working for PALFINGER as there are always opportunities for learning and there is a harmonious working environment.
THE LOCATION SINGAPORE:
Our office is located on the 5th floor of a building named Nordic European Centre, a spacious office building situated at the west part of Singapore.
MY BEST / PROUDEST MOMENT AT PALFINGER:
My proudest moment at PALFINGER was when I received the 10 years’ service award from the Management team of Palfinger Asia Pacific. Working at PALFINGER is like a big family and there are always opportunities given to the employees, if they are ready to learn new things and gain different types of experiences.
Once a year we have a family day or team building event which I enjoy, as it is a good bonding time with our fellow colleagues. Such events bring us closer together, thus harmony is increasing and there is a higher level of cooperation between different departments.
